About the Author
Alice is a nursing trainer at Veterinary Emergency Group in South Loop, Chicago. She began her career in emergency and critical care medicine in 1993, earned her CVT credential in 2012 and her VTS (ECC) credential in 2020, and most recently became a RECOVER certified instructor. In addition to a 30-year career in emergency and critical care, her professional experiences include ophthalmology, shelter medicine, primary care practice, veterinary home health care, leadership, and teaching. When she is not working, she may be found cooking, gardening, hiking, traveling, mushroom hunting, or constructing work-related haikus. She shares a home in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood with her husband and his cat.
