In early August, Compassion-First Pet Hospitals announced the launch of an educational development program called the Compassion-First Technician and Assistant Development Program. To bolster the effectiveness of the program, Compassion-First partnered with two AVMA Accredited Veterinary Technician programs, Penn Foster College and Cedar Valley College. These programs will provide educational options and tuition assistance for career growth.
The implementation of this program will provide a unique opportunity to non-credentialed veterinary technicians. These individuals will have the ability to earn their AS degree in Veterinary Technology and become eligible to take the Veterinary Technician National Exam to become credentialed in their state.
In addition, the program also includes a NAVTA-Approved Veterinary Assistant Certificate program in which employees become eligible to take the national exam and earn their credentials of AVA or Approved Veterinary Assistant.
