About the Author
Shannon began working in veterinary medicine in 2009, earning her associate in applied science degree from the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, Colorado, in 2011. After relocating back to her home in New Jersey in 2012, she began working in cardiology and emergency medicine. She became a certified pet loss and bereavement counselor in 2015 through the Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement. She achieved a VTS in cardiology in 2019. She travels in tandem with her cardiologist to various area hospitals to perform diagnostics and procedures. Her special interests are congenital disease and the management of refractory heart failure.
